This year, Spirit Day will be adding some new events.   We will start off the day with a

SPIRIT RUN that will include a 10k run/walk, 5k run/walk and a Fun Run for children.    I know that we have many running enthusiasts in the Española Valley.   If you are interested in being part of the planning team, please call Alice, Vangie or Liz at the Chamber—753-2831.    We need all the helpers we can get.   

     Other new activities will include a cake decorating contest and a sand pile with hidden treasurers for the children.   We will have the traditional tricycle race, wheelbarrow race, tug of war, and obstacle course competition.     The Wheel Barrow Race and tug of war are back by popular demand.  You will also be able to

dunk your favorite person with a water balloon in the Kid Zone.  The dance contest was a big hit last year and we plan to make it even better this year with more live entertainment.   The Corvette Club will be showing their

beautiful cars for car show lovers.   We get many requests for Española Valley license plates, so the Chamber will have some available for sale on Spirit Day.

    The City is currently having a contractor install portales on the Plaza de Española.   Let’s pray that they are completed by the 26th, so that we can use them for sitting areas and more.    For information on sponsorships, booths and registration please contact the chamber at: 753-2831.
